Virginia Commerce Bank to be 2011 Direction Sponsor of Leadership Prince William

Leadership Prince William Board of Regents is pleased to announce Virginia Commerce Bank will serve as Direction Sponsor 2011. The announcement was made recently during Leadership Prince William’s Board of Regents meeting. Jim DiModica, Co-Chair of the Board of Regents said “I am proud Virginia Commerce Bank has stepped forward with their generous sponsorship”. Molly Grove, Co-Chair of the Board of Regents echoed his remarks adding, “Virginia Commerce Bank is committed to fostering and building leaders in our communities.”

Steve Reeder, Executive Vice President and Chief Deposit Officer of Virginia Commerce Bank, said, “The Bank is thrilled to serve as Direction Sponsor for Leadership Prince William. As a leading community bank, we take seriously our role as community stewards. We are strongly committed to Prince William County, having been involved in Leadership Prince William from its planning and inception to Board and class participation.”

Virginia Commerce Bank is a state chartered full service community bank. It is a subsidiary of Virginia Commerce Bancorp, Inc. The company was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. VCB offers a full range of business and consumer banking services. Virginia Commerce Bank is the largest community bank headquartered in Northern Virginia and is one of the largest banks headquartered in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Four of its 28 branches are located in Prince William County. Launched in 2007, Leadership Prince is aimed at creating a network of leaders who have a clear understanding of the total Prince William community and are committed to its advancement. Each year, approximately 30 people are selected to participate in the program, which begins in September and ends in June the following year. During the 10-month program, participants receive in-depth education on critical issues in the community including criminal justice, education, government as well as a history of the area, health care, and human services. Vision Partner is the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. Foundation Partners include George Mason University, Dominion Virginia and Micron Technology.
